- Check if the OTDR software is loaded at the right way. Take an old trace made before and look if the software can read and display this trace. If this is good it is possible to load it and play with the different functions of the software. If not, reinstall the software.

- When the drivers are installed but it will not connect the unit with the software, check the following. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System en select Device manager to see if the drivers are loaded correctly. It will be under the “USB Controllers” at the bottom. If the drivers look like there loaded okay (no ! mark beside the driver). If there is an ! beside the driver then: have the user right click and “run as admin” - they need to make sure that the “setup port” is set too “USB”.
