The visible laser cable fault locator (635nm)
allows the operator to find faults in fiber optic cables, even
in the OTDR dead zone, By injecting a bright red visible light
in the fiber, locations of losses will be visible. A powerful
laser is used for this. At this way breaks, bends, injuries or
bad connectors can be detected visually. This can be done by the
cladding of bare fibers and also through the typical yellow or
orange jacket used on most single fiber cables. Fibers can be
traced as far as 4 km using this instrument. The visual fault
locator uses a visible diode laser in the compact case for
pocket size convenience. Other
applications include identifying connectors in patch panels and
fibers during splicing operations. It is also a useful tool for
continuity end-to-end checks. There is a fixed connector for one
standard available, at this way the light is coupled very
accurate. The visual fault locator has a protective rubber boot. |
