Connect the OTDR to the PC or Laptop.

Go to à control panel à system à Hardware à Device manager

When device manager is opened click on PORT (COM & LPT)

You will see a bridge device for the OTDR and it will specify which port the OTDR is connected too. If the port is above COM 4 (com 5/ com 6 e.t.c.) the user will need to change the COM port setting to be either COM 1 -2 -3 or 4

Double click on the bridge device and its properties will open - then click on port settings - under port setting click on advanced and you will see the COM port that the OTDR is on. If it is above COM4 change it to COM1 or 2 or 3 or 4.

Once changed open the OTDR software, if the unit does not initialize open Setup --> Ports and make sure that the OTDR software is set to same port that you set it to in the device manager.
